Diamond andalusite & white metal abstract cluster ring
In the centre of this white metal (tests as platinum) ring is a round golden brown andalusite with an estimated weight of 1.41ct.
The andalusite flashes green red and orange as it is moved around.
The andalusite is set in six claws within a surround of round baguette and marquise cut diamonds that form an abstract cluster all above a white metal shank.
There are a total of twenty-seven diamonds with a total estimated weight of 1.40ct estimated clarity of VS and estimated colour range of G - J.

Andalusite is well known for showing strong multi-coloured pleochroism which very simply put means it shows different colours when viewed at different angles ranging from reddish-brown, green orange and yellow.
It is often known as 'the poor man's alexandrite'!
it is however a fascinating and lovely stone in its own right and should be appreciated as such.
It has a hardness of 7 -7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale and is found in Brazil Sri Lanka and Australia.
