This lovely vintage necklace is by DeMario.
The centre piece is a gilt metal drop decorated with gilt metal leaves, pink glass beads, pink and mauve paste, white/pink glass beads and small faux pearls all in a floral design.
The drop is suspended between an outer row of pink irregular shaped glass beads and an inner row of round faux pearls.
The ends of both rows join on either side to a small filigree gilt metal flower shaped plate decorated with small faux pearls and clear paste.
The fastener is a hook with a flower and paste finial on one side and a row of graduated round faux pearls on the other enabling the length to be adapted.
The reverse of the centre drop is signed 'DeMario N.Y."
DeMario jewellery was being made during the period c1945-1965 and this necklace was probably made during the late 1940s-early 1950s.
